Following a seven-year restoration and renovation process, the highly anticipated Capella Sydney has opened the doors to its urban sanctuary within the heritage-listed Department of Education Building near Circular Quay.
Owned and operated by renowned luxury hotel group Capella Hotels and Resorts, the hotel marks the brand’s very first property in Australia and boasts luxury accommodation, exceptional cuisine and unrivalled cultural immersion.
“The opening of Capella Sydney is a milestone moment in the company’s global expansion,” Capella Hotel Group president Cristiano Rinaldi said.
“This launch represents a significant opportunity for Capella to showcase its refined and curated offerings to Sydney and its visitors, and we look forward to amplifying the stories, culture and experiences of the city through a uniquely Capella lens.”
Capella Sydney features 192 spacious guest rooms and suites across nine levels, with standard rooms averaging over 50 square metres, whilst suites range up to 245 square metres. All guest rooms feature intuitive in-room technology, high ceilings, an abundance of natural light, and oversized bathrooms complete with double vanities, rain showers and with most also including huge standalone bathtubs.
Other offerings include six meeting and conference rooms for groups of 10 – 80 people, the award-winning Auriga Spa, a 20-metre swimming pool, fitness centre, yoga platform, and multiple food and beverage offerings, including the landmark restaurant Brasserie 1930 and McRae Bar, both of which feature cuisine in collaboration with The Bentley Group.
The Living Room, a signature space of all Capella properties, is the private ground-floor retreat for in-house guests. It’s also the place where the hotel’s culture and experience programs are conceptualised, facilitated by Culturists who are on-hand to shape the guest experience from pre-arrival to departure.
