Peter King joins AIPC Executive Council as vice president

The MCEC chief executive said he's excited to join the council during such an important time.

Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre chief executive Peter King has been appointed as vice president of the International Association of Convention Centres (AIPC) executive council.

Founded in 1958, AIPC is a global network of some 190 leading centres in 61 countries with the active involvement of more than 900 management-level professionals.

Its mission is to encourage, support and recognize excellence in convention centre management, based on the diverse experience and expertise of its international membership.

King said he is excited to join AIPC’s prestigious executive council during such an important time.

“It is such a crucial time for our industry right now, so to be part of the governing body which is steering us through is a real privilege,” he said.

King joins representatives from Colombia, South Africa, Denmark, Thailand, Sweden and the USA as directors on the executive council.
