Perth, Western Australia has been announced as the host city for the Australian Event Awards and Symposium, as entries open for the annual event.
Taking place on 16 – 18 September 2019, the awards recognise the best events and achievements in the industry.
Managing director of the awards Ian Steigrad said Perth showcased unity and collaboration in its bid to become host city.
“Taking the Awards to Perth is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the destination and gather the industry in Australia’s largest state for the three day immersive program,” he said.
“Optus Stadium’s partnership with the awards as the official Venue and Catering Partner demonstrates their enthusiasm to showcase the newest event venue and possibilities to the events industry.
“Western Australia offers a unique location for hosting public events, business and conference groups and experiences with a difference. Therefore, it’s fitting that the Australian Event Awards and Symposium venture to Perth, to not only expand but highlight the opportunities available to the industry and deliver an Awards Ceremony which is representative of the entire nation.”
The Australian Event Symposium will be centred around the theme “Creating Connections, Breaking Barriers”, and will bring together industry leaders to explore event trends, communication techniques and creativity in events.
Presenters at the symposium include Gill Minervini, focusing on how to make your recurring events fresh each time; Harley Mitaros, unlocking the power of visual marketing and social media integration; and Neil Fergus, recent award winner for Best Event Service 2018, exploring how to enhance the customer experience whilst also maintaining a safe and secure event.
Event organisers and industry suppliers can now begin their entry via the online portal, which will close on 15 July 2019.
Winners will be announced at the Australian Event Awards ceremony on Wednesday, 18 September 2019 at Optus Stadium.
