With a 30-year career in the events industry, including nearly two decades as managing director of AV1, Wootton (pictured, above right) has now stepped down from his role and will be replaced by Mintern (pictured, above left), a long-term employee at the company.
“I am delighted to hand over AV1 to Nigel,” said Wootton at AV1’s Long Summer Lunch, at the Museum of Contemporary Art, in Sydney, on 25 January, 2024.
“Nigel has a broad knowledge of the business as well as a strong understanding of our technology.
“He is well respected by clients and staff. Everyone loves working with Nigel.”
Mintern brings technical expertise and a strong client focus to the managing director role.
“I am honoured and excited to lead AV1 into this new era,” he says.
“Keith’s legacy is undeniable. I am thankful for the opportunity to build upon the strong foundation he has laid, steering the company towards continued growth and success.
“AV1 will continue its commitment to technical excellence and client satisfaction.
“I look forward to catching up with our customers to discuss how AV1 can continue to deliver outstanding service and premium experiences for clients and stakeholders.”
Wootton is stepping back from day-to-day operations of AV1, instead focusing on his business portfolio, which includes AV1, Sprintr and an upcoming video-first creative studio, which will launch in late 2024.
“As I delve into a broader portfolio, including our new creative venture, I am eager to connect with our valued customers, partners and pioneers in the events industry,” he says.
“This is a time for creative exploration and strategic planning. I am open to new ideas and opportunities that align with our vision for the future.
