With a slogan of “Connect-Stay-Experience the Best of Western Sydney”, the taskforce aims to showcase western Sydney’s attractions by collaborating with key partners to enrich the tourism landscape and stimulate local economies under a unified tourism umbrella.
With the opening of Western Sydney International Airport in 2026, the taskforce understands the importance of preparing local businesses to meet the diverse needs of international visitors and be ready to cater to the demands of tourism and business events.
The new board boasts expertise in managing global hotel brands, outdoor attractions, tour groups, wildlife parks, aviation, media, marketing, community engagement and strategic leadership.
The chair of the taskforce is Fazila Farhad, co-founder and director of Z Hotels.
The Western Sydney Tourism Taskforce is holding the inaugural Western Sydney Tourism Awards on 24 October, 2024.
