Melbourne Marriott Hotel Docklands will mark a significant milestone for Marriott Hotels when it opens tomorrow, marking the first Marriott branded hotel to open in Australia in 20 years and the first five-star hotel in the Docklands precinct.
Situated just minutes from Melbourne CBD within the retail, leisure and entertainment precinct, The District Docklands on Waterfront Way, the 189-room hotel is designed to be a resort-style urban retreat for business and leisure travellers alike.
“We are excited to finally open our doors to guests and help them get into their best headspace for success with our forward-thinking, refreshed and refined style,” Melbourne Marriott Hotel Docklands general manager Girish Talreja said.
“We look forward to establishing our hotel as a must-stay hotel for both locals and visitors to the city thanks to our unrivalled dining outlets and spectacular rooftop pool and bar.”
The hotel’s heated 28-metre rooftop infinity pool is serviced by the adjoining Sunset House bar, which is one of the few bars in Melbourne to face west, affording sweeping sunset views across the city skyline, Bolte Bridge, Port Phillip Bay, and Hobsons Bay.
Other culinary options include signature restaurant Archer’s which serves modern Australian cuisine highlighting local produce. Ada’s is the hotel’s stylish and functional lobby bar, offering a relaxed space for guests to work, meet and socialise, while the laneway café Corsia celebrates the city’s coffee culture and transforms into a cocktail bar by night.
The spacious guestrooms are thoughtfully designed and filled with natural light, featuring premium in-room amenities including luxury bedding, high-speed WiFi, a 55-inch LCD TV, large wardrobe, walk-in shower, and a curated ‘Made in Melbourne’ bar fridge.
There are five contemporary function and meeting spaces, with 375 square metres of event space available, complete with cutting-edge technology, flexible floorplans, natural lighting, and panoramic views.
The Fitness Centre features the new Technogym Excite Live platform – a state-of-the-art equipment range that uses AI and immersive content to give guests a personalised training experience.
