Premium winery Levantine Hill Estate in Melbourne’s Yarra Valley has received council approval for a new boutique hotel with dedicated events space to open in 2024.
The $20 million hotel will feature 33 rooms complete with large spa baths and private balconies with sprawling views, and provide a first-class hospitality offering for conferences, functions and events. It will be situated a short walking distance to the winery and will complement the exisiting cellar door restaurant and wine facility.
“The offering of guest rooms, a top restaurant, great wines, and the unique first-class function facility in the winery fully realises the aspirations of Levantine Hill Estate,” Levantine Hill Estate managing director, Samantha Jreissati, said.
“We are committed to blending architectural excellence, and the highest quality wine experience in the Yarra Valley, to one of the most beautiful places in Australia.”
The property will be designed by international design firm Fender Katsalidis, which designed Levantine Hill Estate in 2021, and other high-profile projects such as Tasmania’s MONA and the forthcoming Seafarers development in Melbourne. Taking inspiration from the surrounding landscape, the two-storey building will feature a simple yet elegant design with natural materials.
Plans for a secondary 47-room hotel are also in development.
