The day will begin with a famil for media from Australia and New Zealand. It will comprise a press conference to announce a new concert and show calendar, a tour of the new facilities and a lunch served at the Clubhouse where a selection of classic cars will be on display.

Lunch will be followed by the High Country Challenge Golf Tournament with cricketing legend Sir Richard Hadlee.

The day will culminate with a ticketed evening event featuring a performance by Australia’s Danny Fa iFai, a fireworks display by Fireworks Professionals Limited, a lamb on the spit as well as a selection of other fine foods and wines available for purchase.

“In the last two years we have established ourselves as a world-class golf resort and the launch is about incorporating all the activities that go hand in hand with that,” said Terrace Downs spokesperson Rosie Moore.

“We offer hunting, fishing, archery, horse riding, clay bird shooting, jet boating, heli-skiing and a rugby field that will host one of the 20011 Rugby World Cup teams while they practice in New Zealand.

“We’ll also be launching a new restaurant – an outdoor fresco pizza grill with authentic woodfire oven – which is perfect for a cold beer and pizza after a day’s hunting. And we’ll be announcing a new winter events calendar that will involve an outdoor concert with Jenny Morris on July 18,” she said.

Tickets to the evening show at Terrace Down are $20.

Terrace Down is located in the Mt Hutt hinterland, one hour’s drive from Christchurch International Airport.
