Club Med is ready to open its second resort in China next year nestled within a 114 acre park haven, due to open in early 2013.

Club Med Guilin is currently undergoing a stunning transformation and will emerge with a mix of contemporary and modern China. The resort is located on the banks of the Li River and lies between Guilin and Yangshuo in south China, around 800 km north west of Hong Kong.

Located within a UNESCO World Heritage Park, the latest Club Med China Resort will open in 2013.

Club Med New Zealand marketing manager Kaarin Gaukrodger says that the resort will appeal to families, couples and also conference groups.

“Club Med Guilin is spread over a spacious scenic park, with plenty of secluded meeting and function spaces – with some very special dining spots, including a cave setting as well as lakeside and outdoor banquet options. It will certainly make for a memorable group dinner or event.”

The resort has 329 guest rooms, 3 restaurants, 3 bars and 3 swimming pools – a child-free ‘zen’ pool, main pool, as well as an indoor one. Dining choices include a Noodle Bar, which is a new concept of Club Med restaurant with the first to open at Club Med Cherating in Malaysia.

It offers guests a colourful and casual dining option serving a taste of Asia with chefs creating a range of noodle dishes in the open kitchen in front of diners. The Noodle Bar will complement the resort’s two other restaurants, the main restaurant Atelier and the fine dining Lotus.

Located in a UNESCO World Heritage Park local sightseeing attractions include cruising along the Li River, exploring the Reed Flute Cave or Elephant Trunk Hill. Club Med Guilin will be available for sale from 01 November 2012 for travel from May 2013.

Club Med’s all-inclusive package includes accommodation, all meals including snacks, open bar and a range of activities – including tennis, rock climbing, archery, yoga, golf and circus school, as well as Kids Clubs and live evening entertainment.
