Travel media, VIP’s from around the globe and the President of Mauritius met at a three day event held at Club Med Plantation D’Albion Mauritius for the launch of the first ever Club Med luxury villas last week (May 9)
Also coinciding with Club Med’s 60th birthday in 2010, the President of Mauritius, Sir Anerood Jugnauth, Club Med Chairman and CEO Henri Giscard D’Estaing welcomed guests to the new villa concept.
The event saw the pool transformed with a floating catamaran, stages and ethereal projections.
A packed press conference was followed by a gala ‘white’ dinner and a dazzling poolside party, which featured dancers seemingly floating on the pool in clear boxes, and exotic Avatar like beings moving ethereally in huge transparent balloons.
The main pool was completely transformed with a floating catamaran, stages, a globe that opened to reveal the MC and a spectacular cascading waterfall-wall on to which video images of the world events in the past decades were projected.
Exotic Avatar-like creatures glided inside transparent balloons.
The Villas represent a new alternative for those seeking private, spacious and exclusive luxury whilst still enjoying the all-inclusive value, and multicultural friendliness that is 80 Club Med Resorts around the globe.
Air Mauritius will soon commence flights to Mauritius from Sydney, to complement existing flights from Melbourne and Perth, making the island Resort more accessible to Australians and Australian incentive and conference groups.
