Hundreds of Las Vegans and guests from around the globe put on their party shoes for the 12 hour launch event of CityCentre a $9.2 billion Las Vegas entertainment complex.
The grand event, held on December 17th capped off a month’s worth of celebrity filled launches celebrating the opening of the largest privately funded development in US history.

The CityCentre and its crown jewel Aria Resort, includes 4,000 accommodation rooms, multiple swimming pools and a range of fine dining options.
A tribute to the life of the King himself, Viva Elvis is the latest production from Cirque du Soleil and is housed in the specifically designed theatre at Aria.
Vdara Hotel and Spa led the CityCenter openings on December 1st with an exclusive, star-studded bash. In conjunction with Vanity Fair, the party was an invite-only event hosted by Orlando Bloom and Rosario Dawson, as well as famed photographer Sebastian Copeland. Yet it was not the celebs who crossed the threshold first but the hotel employees, some of CityCenters 12,000 new workers. The CityCenter recruitment drive was the single largest hiring effort in the country to date and most welcome in the current unemployment crisis.
Crystals Retail and Entertainment District opened the doors to its 500,000 square feet of shopping heaven on December 3rd, featuring an incredible array of luxury brands including Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co., Prada, Gucci, Roberto Cavalli, and Ermenegildo Zegna. Among several innovative fine-dining experiences opened at the event was the hotly anticipated Latin steakhouse Beso, owned by Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria Parker.
Mandarin Oriental held its grand opening on December 4th and is now welcoming guests to experience its service. The hotels Sky Lobby is located on the 23rd floor, providing a stunning arrival experience with glittering views of the Las Vegas skyline. A non-gaming hotel, Mandarin Oriental offers guests a chance for respite from the bustling strip and all its activities. However, its location right at the front of the CityCenter complex means its not far should they wish to re-enter the fray.
Not only has CityCenter created 12,000 new jobs but it is also at the forefront of sustainability. One of the worlds largest green developments, ARIA, Vdara, Crystals, Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas and Veer Towers all have received LEED Gold certification by the US Green Building Council. This marks the highest LEED achievement for any hotel, retail district or residential development in Las Vegas. It offers an environmentally responsible fleet of stretch limousines which are powered by natural gas, VIP parking for green cars and even a bicycle valet service.
