The National Wine Centre of Australia has been recognised at the Restaurant and Catering Association (SA) Awards for Excellence, with its catering offering being awarded Best Function/Convention Centre Caterer for 2021.
This is the third time in four years the Adelaide venue has received this accolade, after not submitting an entry in 2020 due to trading conditions.
Despite facing pandemic-related challenges, the National Wine Centre has maintained a strict level of compliance and ensured agility across all areas of its business. This has resulted in positive outcomes both internally and externally as the restrictions and allowances on events ebb and flow.
While the events industry in South Australia has been largely facing restrictions as opposed to full closures, National Wine Centre of Australia general manager Jason Bird said they’ve fortunately enabled the centre to trade to some degree of ‘normality’ for most of the last year.
“The balancing act has been to provide the level of service and quality that is expected of the National Wine Centre of Australia while keeping customer safety and public health as non-negotiables,” Bird said.
“I’m so proud of the agility and strength of the team in their ongoing commitment to planning, re-planning and then re-planning again as may be required, and always putting their clients first.”
The National Wine Centre of Australia was also named Best Wedding Caterer – also the third time in four years.
“We have been fortunate enough to win these awards multiple times – somehow this year’s is all the more appreciated.”
