ICMS Australasia delivers global toxicology conference, virtually

The 58th TIAFT Conference has called upon the expertise of the PCO, which is delivering the three-day event via its in-house platform EventsAIR to more than 800 delegates.

International Convention Management Services (ICMS) Australasia has been called on by the International Association of Forensic Toxicologists (TIAFT) Board to deliver its conference virtually to a global audience.

Taking place this week, the 58th TIAFT Conference was originally planned as an in-person event to be held for the first time in South Africa, but the Board made the decision to move it online due to the spread of Omicron and travel restrictions.

They appointed ICMS to deliver the event, based on the conference management company’s fast-developing reputation for running successful large-scale virtual events. The PCO has been working on the conference since September 2021, with the three-day conference officially commencing today, on Tuesday, 1 February.

In keeping with the virtual program, the conference is using the tag line Around The World In 80 Talks, with presentations going out via ICMS’s in-house platform EventsAIR, to more than 800 registered delegates globally.

ICMS managing director and owner, Emma Bowyer, said most of her 30-strong team were this week working on the project, liaising between key stakeholders, attendees, and a very supportive client.

“Having five months to pull a meeting of this size and complexity together has been a challenge, with a large number of our staff having to juggle workloads in what is traditionally downtime for us over Christmas and the New Year,” Bowyer said.

“Our reputation as a can-do Australian PCO company is really something that my team and I are extremely proud of. To be asked at the 11th hour to make this meeting happen is a testament to the on-going work we do within Australia and internationally for our valued clients.”
