International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney) has unveiled its 2023 Menu Collection which features six sustainably-focused core menus that offer low carbon options.
Developed by the Centre’s in-house team of culinary experts, the latest menu offers event organisers another opportunity to make more positive choices for the environment and community, while also supporting First Nations owned businesses.
“ICC Sydney’s exemplary culinary team has selected the highest quality fresh and seasonal produce to create world class dishes that have been reviewed to estimate the carbon footprint associated with the farming, harvesting, production, and transportation of ingredients,” ICC Sydney chief executive officer and ASM Global (APAC) group director – convention centres, Geoff Donaghy said.
“As part of our ASM Global ACTS schedule of activities and as a signatory to both the Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia’s Sustainable Events 2030 Pledge and Joint Meetings Industry Council’s Net Zero Carbon Events Pledge, we are building on our Feeding Your Performance culinary philosophy, which has sustainability at its core.
“ICC Sydney’s new menu gives event organisers the opportunity to make a positive contribution to our planet, as well as our suppliers, as we continue to add more First Nations businesses to our supply chain.”
The new menu collection is complemented by the venue’s 100 percent local wine list, which ICC Sydney director of culinary services, Lynell Peck said is designed to take guests on a gastronomic tour of New South Wales with more than 130 local producers across the Centre’s supply chain.
“In classic ICC Sydney style, our new Menu Collection caters for all event formats and delegate palates. With a focus on sustainability and diversity, event organisers can make informed choices from across 186 low carbon options from the Breakfast, Lunch, Plated, Canapé, Morning Tea and Afternoon Tea, and Indian Feast menus,” Peck said.
“We couldn’t be more excited to make a positive difference through our Menu Collection in 2023, supporting our clients to make sustainable food and beverage selections.”
