Flight Centre Travel Group has acquired Luxperience – a well-known travel industry event that focuses on connecting high-end experiential travel advisors with the most prestigious of suppliers.
According to Flight Centre Travel Group chief executive officer James Kavanagh, the move was made after demand for luxury events rebounded strongly following the pandemic.
“We felt the addition of a bespoke, luxury B2B event like this would strengthen our portfolio and provide opportunities for business growth and diversification,” Kavanagh said.
The Luxperience brand was launched in 2012, and previously held by Diversified Communications Australia (which had acquired the brand in 2017). As part of the acquisition, Luxperience event director, Lynn Ormiston, will transfer to Flight Centre and continue to lead the portfolio.
Flight Centre has confirmed that the event will continue to be run as a separate business entity, on its own merits, and will not be brand aligned.
Luxperience joins Travel Associates and Scott Dunn brands in Flight Centre’s Luxury Travel Collection.
The next Luxperience event will take place 13-17 November at ICC Sydney.
