Applications are open for the Tasmanian Government’s Events Marketing Tasmania Grant program, which offers local event organisers the chance to expand their marketing reach for Tasmanian events happening in 2022.
With a focus on increasing Tasmania’s intrastate and interstate visitation amid the current climate, the Tasmanian Government is investing a further $100,000 through the competitive grants program to provide organisers with funding of up to $10,000 for an existing marketing strategy.
Submissions will close 8 December 2021, and preference will be given to applicants who can demonstrate how the proposed event and associated marketing project will drive visitation to regional parts of the state outside of the high tourism season.
Tasmania’s events and tourism sector plays a crucial role in restoring visitation to the state and stimulating the economy following COVID-19 and the program builds on the Tasmanian Government’s $31 million commitment as part of the 2021-22 State Budget.
Previous successful recipients of the grant include the Tasmanian Garlic and Tomato Festival and are testament to the positive impact the grants program has had on promoting events and attracting visitation from various regions of Tasmania.
In addition, applications are also open for the Event Ready Grant Program, with Events Tasmania offering grants of up to $5,000 in funding to support events with COVID-19 safety planning.
