EEAA launches COVID-19 Safe Framework for business events

Organisers, venues and suppliers collaborated to launch the industry-wide framework.

The Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia (EEAA) has released an industry-wide industry-wide COVID-19 Safe Operating Framework, outlining best practice health and safety protocols for business events.

Designed in line with current Australian Government health guidelines, the framework aims to instil confidence in exhibitors, attendees and associated businesses that exhibitions are ready to open their doors, and to do it safely.

The COVID-19 Safe Operating Framework forms the second phase of EEAA’s #ExpoReady campaign.

The framework provides over-arching principles across four key categories:

  • Physical Distancing
  • Cleaning, hygiene and environment management
  • Protect & Detect
  • Communication

A number of EEAA members collaborated on the framework, including Simon Cooper, Interpoint & Intermedia Group; Paul Elliott, Harry the Hirer; Sharon Friedman, Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre; Domenic Genua, Boating Industry Association; Darryl Jeffrey, Sydney Showground; David Longman, Diversified Communications and Stephen Steenson, Reed Exhibitions Australia.

The COVID-19 Safe Operating Framework can be accessed here.

EEAA also invites the industry to share the #ExpoReady assets across social media channels to further extend the reach and core message of this campaign. The assets can be accessed here.
