The Art Gallery of New South Wales and Bangarra Dance Theatre have joined the Cultural Attractions of Australia (CAOA) collective, which now brings together 19 of Australia’s most significant attractions that celebrate the country’s diverse ethnic, historic, cultural and sporting influences.
The two new Sydney-based members will bring new premium experiences and venues to the group, expanding the diverse options available for consideration by business event planners.
“Welcoming these prestigious new members to Cultural Attractions of Australia serves to enhance our reputation as a source of inspiring and interesting experiences for business events,” CAOA executive officer Annabel Sullivan said.
“Incentive planners in particular are constantly seeking new ways to reward high-achievers and we believe that the exclusivity of these small group experiences make them a must-consider.”
One of Australia’s flagship art museums, the Art Gallery of New South Wales will open its new building in early December, almost doubling its footprint as a destination for art and especially Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artworks.
It offers two different after-hours experiences, delivering an evening of art, creativity, fine food and wine. The exclusive small group experience options, ‘A night at the gallery’ and ‘The Yiribana Experience’, both provide in-depth curated encounters with their extensive art collections.
Launched in 1989, Bangarra Dance Theatre is a company of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander performers and is regarded as one of Australia’s leading performing arts companies across dance, music, poetry and design.
The bespoke ‘Behind the scenes at Bangarra’ experience invites a small number of guests to step into more than 30 years of stories and 65,000 years of culture, with Indigenous cuisine inspired canapés and cocktails included in the program. Depending on performance schedules, the experience may also include watching rehearsals at Bangarra or attending a performance at the Sydney Opera House.
