After 20 successful years of hosting Sell TNQ, Business Events Cairns & Great Barrier Reef has rebranded and relaunched the annual showcase event.
BE Immersed: Cairns & Great Barrier Reef will take place on 6-9 May 2021, giving professional conference and incentive organisers the opportunity to see and experience Tropical North Queensland first-hand.
The new-look educational program coincides with the region’s new destination story, says Business Events Cairns & Great Barrier Reef general manager Rosie Douglas.
“With meeting planners eager to start work on reactivating the business events industry, it is timely to evolve our key educational program to meet the needs and expectations of our business events clients’ as well as reflecting our leave greater destination brand promise,” she said.
“Stepping into a delegates’ shoes will give Australian meeting planners the opportunity to understand why Cairns & Great Barrier Reef is the natural place to meet.
“Robust COVID-safe practices, wide open spaces and small population bases will be part of the new considerations for meeting planners wanting to stage successful events in the post-pandemic world.
“However, they will not want to compromise on quality and Cairns & Great Barrier Reef is one of the few regional areas with the business events infrastructure and industry professionalism to successfully compete with capital cities as a global meeting destination.”
During the program, planners will explore various meeting venues, unique off-site events, team building challenges and post-touring options.
They will discover the region’s two World Heritage areas, the Daintree Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef, and the genuine connections to the community and the environment through Indigenous experiences and operators.
“Meeting in Cairns & Great Barrier Reef is about naturally inspired moments that allow individuals to create great as a team and leave greater as a human being,” said Douglas.
