Twenty-seven year old publicist Emma Morris from Melbourne squealed with delight when advised she had won 25-million Velocity Points from Virgin, which she has the opportunity to use to fly to space with Virgin Galactic.

Virgin Chairman Sir Richard Branson called direct from the Caribbean with the news to personally congratulate Morris on her windfall – a competition that has had the Australian tourism industry in a spin since it was first announced.

The biggest challenge for Emma now is to decide which one of four amazing prize packages she’ll ‘purchase’ with her 25 million Velocity Points – a trip to space, two Alfa Romeo Spider sports cars, a shopping spree worth $170,000 or a holiday package from Blue Holiday including vouchers valued at $100,000 and $50,000 cash.

If she chooses the Virgin Galactic prize Morris would be the first Victorian woman ever to venture into space, joining 16 other Aussies – including Virgin Blue CEO Brett Godfrey – who are also planning to go to space with Galactic.

Morris was randomly selected from millions of entries received during the promotion after earning points through purchases with Virgin Blue and Virgin Mobile.
