Dynamic Tourism Group, headed up by industry stalwart Jeff Skinner, has been appointed to manage the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s (TAT) Australian marketing activity.
Jeff Skinner is the former head of Qantas Holidays
Skinner, formerly of Qantas Holidays and Flight Centre, said his goal for TAT is to reinforce the relationships between the tourism board and industry representatives.
Skinner said, “My job is to get people to Thailand and I am not the kind of person to rest on my laurels”.
With competition heating up with other destinations in Asia for outbound Australian business – namely Malaysia, Bali and Taiwan – Skinner said he is keen to meet with MICE industry representatives regardless of group size, whether it’s 100 people for an incentive or 5000 people for a conference. He and his team plan to work very closely with bookers to ensure they have all the necessary information, contacts and to provide fresh itinerary ideas.
Skinner said, “I want to bring the Thai industry closer to the Australian industry and get them working more cohesively together. I also want to encourage bookers to explore the regional areas in Thailand. Every tourism board says that but I want Aussies to realise there’s more to Thailand than fly and flop and fly and shop”.
Skinner and his team complement the in-house marketing and PR team at TAT.
