Tiger Airways has announced plans to launch low-cost flights on the busy Sydney-Brisbane route from February 2011.
Tiger is set to fly Sydney-Brisbane for under $40
Tackling a void in the no-frills market since Virgin Blue changed its strategy to a new-world carrier, Tiger has launched the new flights with prices from just $38.95 one-way in a boost to both leisure and business travel.
Tiger Airways Australia Managing Director, Crawford Rix, said the expansion comes following the arrival of new A320 aircraft in the coming months.
“Recently we announced our 10th aircraft for Australia arriving before the end of 2010 and just last week, we announced another two aircraft for Australia, bringing the total number of A320 aircraft to 12 by early 2011,” he said.
“It’s great that more and more people can join in the Low Fare Revolution as Tiger Airways continues to extend its paw print across the nation,” Rix said.
Tiger will launch the double-daily services between Sydney and Brisbane from February 7, 2011.
