Tiger Airways Australia has welcomed its 100,000th passenger through Rockhampton Airport as services recommenced this week (Mar 29) from Melbourne (Tullamarine).
Tiger has re-commenced flights to Rockhampton
Tiger Airways Head of Communications and Marketing, Vanessa Regan, said services between Melbourne and Rockhampton were temporarily suspended due to the airport’s closure caused by the Queensland floods and the airline was excited to have resumed services to the holiday destination.
“We’re thrilled to be reinstating flights between Melbourne and Rockhampton as part of our new season schedule and hope that our consistently low airfares will be just the ticket for many residents and tourism operators in far north Queensland affected by the recent floods,” she said.
Tiger Airways first launched flights to Rockhampton on the airline’s first day of operations in Australia on November 23, 2007.
The airline recently celebrated carrying seven million passengers around Australia and is currently the fastest growing major domestic airline in the country.
