Tiger Airways is continuing its rapid expansion in Queensland this week, with the launch of new flights to Brisbane from Sydney and Melbourne (Avalon).
Tiger Airways has inaugurated new Brisbane flights
The thrice-daily Sydney flights debuted yesterday, while services from Melbourne (Avalon) took-off for the first time today.
Services to Queensland will then be boosted further with the launch of direct flights from Sydney to Maroochydore on March 27, 2011.
“Tiger has recently committed to increasing flights across Australia by around 20% in the coming year and we are delighted that Queensland’s capital city is first to benefit from our expanding services in 2011,” said Tiger Airways’ Australia’s Managing Director, Crawford Rix.
“The new Brisbane-Sydney route adds more choice and convenience for travellers but it also signifies a tremendous boost in air travel for Queensland at a time when it’s needed most,” he said.
