Minister for Tourism and Major Events, George Souris has announced that Sydney has secured one of the largest business events from China – The Perfect China Leadership Seminar 2013.
“This alone is expected to deliver an economic impact of $21 million to NSW and re-enforces Sydney as Australia’s premier destination for business events and conferences,” he said.
So far this financial year, Sydney has secured 30 corporate events from Asia worth an estimated $88 million in economic impact for New South Wales (NSW).
Perfect (China) Co. Ltd. is a large direct-selling company that has built a strong market in China and throughout Asia for its health food and personal care products. The company motivates and develops its high-achieving sales force through its annual leadership seminars and will bring some 3,500 Perfect (China) staff to Sydney next year.
“Sydney has a strong reputation for delivering top quality corporate meetings and incentives that inspire and motivate staff. We are thrilled that Perfect (China) has selected the Harbour City as its leadership seminar destination.
“This event is another major opportunity for us to showcase that not only is Sydney a fantastic tourist destination, it is also a leading global business events destination. From innovative team-building activities to inspiring corporate events, our local businesses can craft programs to meet all needs.
“Business events will play a key role in the government achieving its objective to double tourism expenditure in NSW by 2020.”
Business Events Sydney (BESydney) is a partnership between the New South Wales Government and the tourism industry to promote Sydney as a business events destination, identify new event opportunities and compete to bring these events to Sydney.
“The BESydney team, together with Destination NSW, worked tirelessly to secure the Perfect China Leadership Seminar 2013 for Sydney and the economic impact this event will deliver to local businesses is substantial,” said BESydney’s CEO, Lyn Lewis-Smith.
“Sydney continues to be an extremely attractive destination for Asian leadership and reward programs. I credit this to the hard-work of our Asia team, our proven track-record with events such as the Amway China Leadership Seminars in 2005 and 2011, and the city’s spectacular mix of culture, cuisine, natural beauty, shopping and unique Australian experiences.”
