Sell TNQ gets planners on board

Business Events Cairns and Great Barrier Reef and their industry partners have recently concluded a four day Sell TNQ programme in Cairns that involved 27 conference and incentive planners plus 5 media representatives

Business Events Cairns & Great Barrier Reef and their industry partners have recently concluded a four day ‘Sell TNQ‘ programme in Cairns in Tropical North Queensland (TNQ) that involved 27 conference and incentive planners plus 5 media representatives with 11 also undertaking post-event touring to Palm Cove and Port Douglas.

Participants came from Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne and some far afield from Germany and New Zealand

Sell TNQ offered an extensive familiarisation programme as well as the opportunity to meet with 36 TNQ industry operators at pre-scheduled appointments in a full day workshop and also informally at functions and events held throughout the programme.

Director of Business Events Cairns & Great Barrier Reef, Rosie Douglas, believes that the annually held Sell TNQ programmme provides a fantastic opportunity for the destination to showcase its capability to a significant number of event planners.

“Whilst we conduct a number of smaller famils and site visits throughout the year, Sell TNQ enables us to stage events and activities that are designed for larger groups,’ said Douglas.

Planners can see for themselves just what our destination can offer and will hopefully consider some of these creative activity and function ideas, when they come to hold their own events in TNQ in the future.”

Highlights of the programme included a visit to Tjapukai by Night, an evening on Green Island, a farewell gala dinner at the Cairns Cruise Liner Terminal and for the braver souls, the opportunity to bungy jump or experience the Minjin Jungle Swing at AJ Hackett.

Participants also had a full touring day where they had the option of a trip out to the Great Barrier Reef with the Quicksilver Group or a unique rainforest experience combing Skyrail, Rainforestation and the Kuranda Scenic Railway.

“I’ve been blown away by the ‘attitude’ and passion the suppliers have when speaking about the region – it’s infectious! I appreciate all of the facets of the region we’ve been lucky to experience during our stay and how hospitable and warm staff have been. The region has been showcased brilliantly!” said participant Danielle Gadanyi from LOUD events.
