Port Macquarie’s new business events offerings, including a range of waterfront venues will be on show at AIME on 21-22 February 2012.
“Port Macquarie has a variety of new waterfront venues to offer event organisers this year at Rydges Port Macquarie, Waters Edge Boutique Hotel and HQ Port. There are also new direct flights from Brisbane, a mix of new tours and incentive activities and an exciting new partnership between the Sydney Opera House and Glasshouse.” said Linda Hall, Tourism and Events Manager at Port Macquarie Tourism.
Recently refurbished, the Rydges Port Macquarie now offers increased event spaces.
The 4.5 star Rydges Port Macquarie has completed a major refurbishment to increase events capacity. It features four new conference spaces with three of these spaces culminating in one large waterfront ballroom to cater for 350 banquet style, 400 theatre style and 500 cocktail. Rydges Port Macquarie also offers the new Zebu Bar + Grill, the perfect meeting place for contemporary coastal cuisine and cocktails, and 123 spacious hotel rooms and self-contained two and three bedroom apartments.
“The refurbishment is simply stunning and capitalises on Rydges’ iconic location right in the CBD on the Hastings River with ocean views. The conference spaces are filled with natural light and feature exceptional facilities,” said Kate Wood-Foye, sales and marketing manager.
HQ Port, a a new boutique venue is also now available with 12 fully serviced office suites and a boardroom with river views catering for 20 people boardroom style or 100 people for cocktail. Waters Edge Boutique Hotel is another waterfront venue at the newly refurbished 4 star Waters Edge Boutique Hotel and Edge Terrace restaurant on the Hastings River. The property boasts 61 rooms.

Additionaly for 2012, Virgin Australia has launched direct daily flights from Brisbane to Port Macquarie opening up opportunities for Queensland based businesses
The Open House Project is a new three-year partnership set to deliver up to 20 Sydney Opera House programs and performances from the stages of Sydney Opera House direct to the Glasshouse. The Glasshouse is regional NSW’s pre-eminent performance and exhibition arts facility.
