Perth and Western Australia’s conferencing and business events industry is in top shape, according to industry statistics addressed at Perth Convention Bureau’s (PCB) Annual General Meeting at Crown Perth on Monday (19 November).
In a year of success, PCB has passed $100 million in direct delegate expenditure for the first time; and celebrated its 40th anniversary as a not-for-profit organisation since being established in 1972.
Chairman of PCB, Ian Laurance, congratulated Tourism Minister, Kim Hames and the State Government on their support for the business events industry and their commitment to a new four-year funding deal for the Bureau on the back of its success.
“This move gives us certainty and stability for the next four years and will underwrite our continuing success in bringing business events and conventions to the State,” Laurance said.
“I believe the current Tourism Western Australia Board, led by new chairman, Peter Prindiville is the best in the organisation’s history.”
Additionally, a ballot to replace retiring directors saw Ryan Mossny of Two Feet & a Heartbeat elected to the Board of the Perth Convention Bureau for a two year term and Adam Myott, general manager, Hyatt Regency Perth, was elected for a second successive two-year term
