Melbourne has for third year in a row beaten Sydney for the top spot in the latest business traveller’s survey.
Forty per cent of participants in the annual survey compiled by accommodation website wotif.com listed the Victorian capital as their preferred destination for business.
Sydney came in second while Brisbane came in third. They were followed by Perth, Adelaide, Darwin, Hobart and Canberra.
More than two-thirds of respondents listed a comfortable bed as the most important aspect of a business trip, with location, the inclusion of breakfast, free parking and internet access the next most important factors.
Conversely, well-equipped business centres and complimentary gifts such as wine or massages were of little interest to survey participants.
