Melbourne Convention Bureau launched new initiative initiatives

The Melbourne Convention Bureau has today launched a new initiative that will make Melbourne even more alluring to the international incentives market.

The Melbourne Convention Bureau (MCB) has today (25 Feb) launched a new initiative that will make Melbourne even more alluring to the international incentives market.

The program, Melbourne Values You, presents a series of special offers for incentive and corporate travel reward planners, designed to make booking and planning an event in Melbourne not only seamless, but cost effective.

MCB has partnered with more than 30 of its members in the categories of hotels, venues, attractions and team building companies to offer almost 80 complimentary services or discounts for incentive groups.

MCB Chief Executive Officer, Karen Bolinger, said the program was created to target and attract new corporate and incentive business from across the globe.

“As Australia’s most multicultural city, packed full of just about every form of entertainment, Melbourne is a haven for international incentive groups looking for an unforgettable, tailor-made experience,” Bolinger said.

“Thanks to the support of our members, through Melbourne Values You, we can provide a diverse range of offers to relieve planners of some of the leg work involved in organising an event; from free WI-FI and hotel room upgrades, to reduced entry into attractions and on food and beverage packages.

“I would like to thank MCB’s Director of International Incentives, Jasmine Lim, who has worked with our members to bring this concept to fruition, ensuring that the products and services available will be truly appealing to potential clients.”

To benefit from this program, organisations must adhere to the following criteria:

• Applicable to corporate meetings, incentive programs and conferences

• Minimum of 100 delegates travelling at the same time

• Minimum two nights’ stay in Melbourne

• Groups to be confirmed for Melbourne by 31 December, 2013

• Groups to travel to Melbourne by 31 December, 2014

• Not applicable to groups already confirmed for Melbourne prior to the launch of this program in February 2013

To take advantage of Melbourne Values You, planners are encouraged to visit the Melbourne/Victoria stand during the Asia-Pacific Incentives & Meetings Expo (AIME) in Melbourne on 26 and 27 February or contact their nearest MCB office.
