Sydney based special event professional Lena Malouf was recognised last week with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award presented at the The Special Event (TSE) recently held in the United States city of Nerw Orleans.
The award recognises her contribution to the international events industry. This is the first time an Australian has been so honoured.
Lena Malouf, CSEP, has been recognised with the Lifetime Achievement Award Penton at The Special Event in the United States.
This award brings another high point to an illustrious career that commenced in floral design and now encompasses event management, professional development through mentoring and lectures in Australia and around the world.
“I am humbled by this honour from my peers in the industry that I love,” said Malouf. “Contributing to the building of a strong respected industry has been important to me, and I believe that working together we can ensure a sustainable future by investing in the next generations by sharing our knowledge and experiences.”
Amongst her many achievements, Malouf was the founding Australian President then International President of ISES, the International Special Events Society. She was the first Australian to be accepted into the prestigious American Institute of Floral Designers and was recognised for her outstanding contribution to the industry by the American Academy of Florists and Floral Commentators.
The Special Event is the American based international industry body that brings together industry professionals from 40 countries, to exchange knowledge and ideas with a focus on acknowledging innovation and achievement while developing the next generation of event specialists.
