Budget air travel has never looked so good. Jetstar’s brand spanking new Dreamliner will start flying out of Melbourne Cairns and the Gold Coast next month and launch Melbourne to Bali on 18 December.
Jetstar will have its first domestic business class crew
The new plane has 21 seats in business class and 314 in economy, with inflight entertainment available for purchase in every seat. Jetstar Group CEO Jayne Hrdlicka has confirmed that further Dreamliner destinations include Phuket, Japan, Hawaii and Singapore as soon as more aircraft are received.
Hrdlicka said,”Subject to the certification of the newest standard of even more fuel efficient engines, Jetstar expects to have three 787s operating early next year and an all 787 long haul fleet by the end of 2015,” the carrier said, with the transfer of existing A330s to Qantas enabling the retirement of the QF Boeing 787 fleet by mid-2015.”
