Newcastle, Port Stephens and the Hunter Valley have joined forces to attract business tourism to the region.
The campaign, valued at $270,000, is the result of collaboration between Destination NSW and regional partners, Destination Port Stephens, Newcastle Convention Bureau and the Hunter Valley Wine and Tourism Association.
Creedon said, “Altogether Perfect is the first dedicated business tourism campaign the region has seen in several years. The industry has supported the initiative with an investment of $135,000 and Destination NSW has matched it.
“Our region has the capacity to service niche markets within specific destinations such as the association market into Newcastle, the corporate market into the Hunter Valley and the incentive market into Port Stephens. This campaign will allow for cross promotion between the different markets and areas as well as added pre and post touring opportunities.
“Altogether Perfect celebrates the combined attributes of our region which offers the best of city, country and coast experiences for the business traveller. A comprehensive calendar of business events has been included in the marketing strategy and will allow for sales missions to take place in capital cities as well as participation in a number of major tradeshows including the Associations Forum – Canberra, Executive Assistant Network showcases – Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane and major partner of Inspire Ex – Sydney,” said Creedon.
Visitor Economy Hunter and its partners were successful in receiving NSW Government funding from the Regional Visitor Economy Fund (RVEF), towards the Altogether Perfect campaign. The RVEF is managed and administered by the NSW Government’s tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW, and aims to support the growth and development of the regional visitor economy.
