Australian conference and incentive travellers will soon have another way of travelling to Cape Town when Etihad Airways launches flights to the South African city from September 30, 2009.

Etihad will fly to Cape Town from September 30

The launch of flights via Abu Dhabi is timely, given Australia’s inclusion in the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa next July.

“Etihad Airways is committed to expanding its flight network across the world and we are delighted to add flights to Cape Town to our schedule from September,” said Etihad Airways CEO James Hogan.

“In the coming 12 months demand for flights to South Africa will grow immensely, especially with the 2010 FIFA World Cup next summer,” he said.

Etihad Airways currently flies from Abu Dhabi to Brisbane (via Singapore), Melbourne and Sydney.
