Queensland’s Sunshine Coast has secured two major national conferences for 2019.
Taking place on 29-31 May 2019 at The Events Centre Caloundra, the National Clean Technologies Conference & Exhibition will attract around 250 delegates to the region.
The Events Centre will also host The Performing Arts Connections Australia Conference and Performing Arts Exchange on 25-29 August 2019, which was secured by Sunshine Coast Council and Business Events Sunshine Coast.
The conference is expected to attract up to 500 delegates, as well as national and international guest speakers.
It will be held in conjunction with the Sunshine Coast’s annual Horizon Arts Festival, cementing the region’s growing reputation as an arts and cultural destination.
Visit Sunshine Coast CEO Simon Latchford said the Sunshine Coast is targeting both niche business events and major conferences.
“We have the benefit of accessibility for delegates and the richness and diversity of the destination, and that attractive combination is really resonating with conference and event organisers,” he said.
“Our future prospects of building our business events market are looking even better with major new hotels confirmed, funding approved for a feasibility study into a dedicated Convention Centre, the announcement of Novotel Twin Waters Resort’s new convention facilities and work beginning on the expansion and upgrade of Sunshine Coast Airport.”
