Webjet has signed a two-year partnership with the NSW Government through its tourism and major events agency Destination NSW.

Webjet and Destination NSW will work together to further boost domestic travel to Sydney and rural and regional NSW with the development of joint partnership marketing programs.

The campaigns will focus primarily on the eastern seaboard audience (VIC, QLD, regional NSW), and they will help promote key NSW seasons and events such as Sydney in Summer, Sydney in Winter and Vivid Sydney.

David Galt, Webjet Country Manager said: “We are thrilled to be contributing to the inbound market for New South Wales.”

“Through Webjet’s state of the art digital channels, we will be offering travellers a range of options to experience the state’s incredible regions and hallmark events such as Vivid Sydney.

“With the exponential growth of Webjet mobile users, this important MOU goes hand in hand with exciting new features released on the Webjet App this month. Our App will prove to be an immensely valuable tool for travellers keen to experience everything that Sydney and regional NSW has to offer,” he said.

NSW Minister for Tourism and Major Events Adam Marshall said: “This partnership has already delivered great success with last year’s Sydney in Summer Webjet campaign generating a huge return on investment and contributing more than $2 million to the State’s overnight visitor economy.

“Maintaining strong relationships with key industry players is critical to attracting more visitors to NSW and we look forward to working with Webjet to maximise the tourism opportunities the new agreement delivers for the State over the coming two years,” Mr Marshall said.

Webjet works with all State Tourism Organisations in Australia but this is the first Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with a STO partner.
