Business Events Geelong (BEGeelong) recently took 40 Melbourne event professionals on the long lunch that dreams are made of: three courses and three venues in three hours.
The annual progressive lunch, designed to educate planners about the region and its business events capabilities, kicked off at Garden State Hotel in Melbourne’s CBD, where guests enjoyed canapes and espresso martinis.
They were then led by an accordion player to The French Brassiere, where they indulged in a main course paired with Scotchmans Hill wines.
In keeping with the French theme, a mime then appeared to lead the guests to the last location at Axil Coffee Roasters, where coffee and doughnuts awaited.
Local industry members in attendance included Kerrie Benfield, Rydges Geelong; Ebony Kirk, Waurn Ponds Estate; Emily Robertson, The Pier Geelong; Karen Jackson, Novotel Geelong; Jacqueline Lancaster, Geelong Football Club and Sam Richmond, Mt Duneed Estate.
BEGeelong bureau manager Mark Day says the event provided the perfect setting for planners to network directly with Geelong operators, while enjoying local food and wine.
“To have such a large amount of conference and meeting planners attend this exclusive event confirms why Geelong and The Bellarine is consistently front of mind for meeting planners as the premier region to hold a business event,” he says.
“With easy access, stunning natural assets, incredible infrastructure and all the support needed to create inspiring events, Geelong and The Bellarine is the perfect destination for business events.”
