The Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia (EEAA) has today announced the signing of a new partnership with Tourism Australia’s Business Events to become the inaugural Platinum Partner for the Association’s EEAA Young Stars Program.
The EEAA Young Stars Program was launched four years ago and provides a forum for mentoring and developing young leaders in the exhibition and events industry.
EEAA chief executive Joyce DiMascio said,“We are pleased to welcome Tourism Australia, and in particular, Business Events Australia into our community. We value their investment in supporting the EEAA in our work to encourage the development of young talent in our sector.
“The future of our industry is in the hands of the young people who have chosen to join the Business Events sector and we must continue to support and encourage them if our industry is to grow and prosper,” she said.
Tourism Australia executive general manager of events Penny Lion said, “The Business Events Sector in Australia is an important driver of the economy and visitation. We need the industry to be in good hands both now and in the future and for this reason we decided to make this contribution.
“EEAA’s work in developing the careers of young people working in Business Events is most commendable and we are very pleased to support the Association through this partnership.
“I have seen first-hand the impact of the EEAA Young Stars Program and have met many of the participants so it is a great pleasure to be able to contribute towards its growth,” said Lion.
