Blue Mountains Tourism Exchange spotlights region as premier MICE destination

Held at Hotel Mountain Heritage in Katoomba, the event provided the perfect platform to showcase the region's attractions to the wider MICE industry.

Blue Mountains Tourism (BMT) held its very first Blue Mountains Tourism Exchange (BMTE22) this month, showcasing a variety of attractions businesses from the Blue Mountains local government area.

Held at Hotel Mountain Heritage in Katoomba, the event provided the perfect platform to showcase the region’s attractions to the wider MICE industry.

Exhibitors included Blue Mountains Stargazing, Scenic World, Beyond the Blacktop Adventure Tours, Megalong Creek Estate, Blue Mountains Biking Adventures, and many more, who met with visiting buyers and conference organisers.

The industry expo was made possible thanks to the $2.6 million Bushfire Local Economic Recovery funding secured by BMT in July, and after the turbulence of the past three years, BMT president Jason Cronshaw said it was time to focus on a bright future.

“With many new businesses in the region and lots of others that have adapted, evolved and refreshed their offerings, there’s a lot here to celebrate and show off,” Cronshaw said.

“While the Blue Mountains is well known as a MICE destination, there are loads of new and refreshed offerings here. If you think your teams have seen it all then think again.”

Check out Cronshaw’s top five reasons why you should host your next event in the Blue Mountains here.
