After a 12-day celebration of the events industry’s best, more than 100 events and organisations have been crowned as finalists and winners of the Australian Event Awards for 2021.
The ceremony took place online between 20-31 October, delivering bit-sized broadcasts highlighting the industry’s achievements and top performers.
Taking out the gong for Australian Event of the Year was EY Secrets of the Archibald, delivered by Jack Morton Australia, while Rizer was named Event Management Organisation of the Year.
Parrtjima – A Festival in Light 2021 took out two awards, winning Best Regional Event and Best Achievement in Marketing or Communications. The 10-night Aboriginal light festival in Alice Springs welcomed 15,300 visitors and generated more than $11.5 million for the Northern Territory economy.
Best Live or Hybrid Corporate Event went to Class of 2020: Celebrate Together, hosted by The University of Sydney, New South Wales, while EventsAIR for OnAIR was awarded Best Online Event Delivery Platform.
Given the challenges faced by the industry, Australian Event Awards judging panel co-chair Peter Rix said it was an incredible achievement that so many industry players were able to persevere through such a difficult time.
“The overall number and quality of the entries we received in 2021 really depicts the collective drive we have to succeed in the face of adversity,” Rix said.
