The Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event (AIME) won in two categories at the Australian Event Awards & Symposium which took place last week aboard The Jackson on Sydney Harbour.
AIME was named Australian Event of the Year (2022) and National Winner: Best Congress, Conference or Exhibition (2022).
AIME connects international and local buyers with world-class exhibitors from Asia Pacific and around the world. Next year’s three-day event will be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) from 13-15 February 2023 and will see the industry come together to celebrate the tradeshow’s 30th anniversary.
AIME event director Silke Calder said the team was delighted to receive the prestigious recognition.
“We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate nominees and fellow winners, all who work tremendously hard year-on-year to make their events unforgettable experiences for attendees. Thank you also to our partners and event owner, Melbourne Convention Bureau, for all their support,” Calder said.
“We are particularly proud of the culture of learning and connection we champion at AIME. With the goal of driving industry growth and development, our tradeshow is where key industry stakeholders gather, transfer knowledge, stimulate learning and realise the power of connection and community.
“Recognition from an entity like the Australian Event Awards & Symposium who themselves foster continued excellence, innovation and unity feels poetic to say the least. We are truly thrilled.”
The Australian Event Awards & Symposium is the national awards program and conference for the Australian events industry, offering Australian event professionals the only opportunity to compete directly across the nation and across all facets of the industry.
Alongside the Awards, the Symposium aims to drive industry growth and development, and to ensure Australia remains on the leading edge of the events space worldwide.
The Symposium judges said: “While the strategic intent of AIME is to drive business, it also provided the event industry with hope, a sense of community and collaboration mixed with a strong dose of fun. Congratulations to all involved.”
