As the highly anticipated staged opening of the shiny new $3.6 billion Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct draws near in August 2024, The Star Brisbane has revealed an exciting first look of what’s inside.
Located at the heart of the Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct, the sprawling 12-hectare precinct is set to deliver more than 50 new venues and experiences including four future luxury hotels, an array of exceptional restaurants and bars, world-class entertainment, luxury retail and a state-of-the-art events centre boasting Brisbane’s largest hotel ballroom.

As the curtain rises on these exciting revelations, The Star Brisbane’s Event Centre has opened its doors for bookings.
Purpose-designed for spectacular events of every scale, the Centre is anchored by Brisbane’s largest hotel ballroom, with the capacity to cater for up to 2,000 guests. Its stunning design and draws inspiration from Queensland’s subtropical landscape, heralding a new era for events in Brisbane.
Five-star luxury throughout
At the heart of the resort lies The Star Grand, Brisbane’s newest five-star hotel, which offers 340 luxury rooms and four Skyline Penthouse Suites spread across two arc-shaped towers overlooking Brisbane River.
Hotel guests at The Star Brisbane will have exclusive access to three swimming pools on the resort’s expansive Leisure Deck, a 12,000-square-metre open-air oasis offering a 12 football fields of public space, as well as direct access to the striking Sky Deck – a 250-metre rooftop runway of restaurants and bars situated 100 metres above the ground.
The Star Brisbane chief operating officer Kelvin Dodt expressed his excitement at what Queensland’s newest entertainment and leisure destination has in store for visitors.

Top culinary talent at the helm of world-class dining
A huge drawcard of the new precinct is its array of more than 50 new food and beverage venues, which have attracted some of the world’s top chefs. One such culinary headliner is the renowned celebrity chef Luke Nguyen, whose popular South-East Asia food restaurant, Fat Noodle, is set to be reimagined with fresh new flavours and increased capacity.
Nguyen, who has enjoyed a decade-long partnership with The Star across its Brisbane and Sydney resorts, said he was proud to be a part of the destination’s world-class restaurant offering.
“Brisbane is on the precipice of being the next foodie capital of Australia; the food offerings, the art and culture, and tourism is growing, and the city is making a name for itself in its own right. There’s an undeniable buzz about town that is only going to be supercharged by the opening of The Star Brisbane next year,” Nguyen said.
The Star’s signature cocktail bar, Cherry, sets the scene for group drinks and private functions, with its chic 360-degree bar, while the resort’s Food Quarter will focus on fresh food and fast service to deliver a delightful one-stop café experience for visitors seeking a laid-back lunch or late-night bite.
Meanwhile, the hotel’s spectacular 732-square-metre Sports Bar promises to be the city’s premier venue for celebrating the world’s biggest matches, races, and games. Endorsed by homegrown heroes, the Brisbane Broncos, the Sports Bar features over 100 square metres of mega LED screens and stadium-like surround sound, along with three exclusive VIP booths large enough to seat an entire NRL team.
