An event director at The University of New South Wales’s CBD campus compared the space to Google’s head office following its naming as National Meeting Venue of the Year for less than 150 delegates by Meetings and Events Australia.
A variety of meeting and event spaces are available
with plenty of outdoor spaces at UNSW’s CBD Campus
“How many times have you been sent to a conference or meeting room that is about as inspiring as George Bush? And then paid a fortune for the privilege,” asked event director Bruce Ferguson,.
“This place is more like Google’s head office than Google’s head office. With light, colour, imagination, comfortable furniture, hi-tech AV gear, no columns, fresh air and outdoors to escape.”
The venue, located at 1 O’Connell St, is the first university style-venue to win the award.
The space also offers theatrettes with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the city, 20-seat boardrooms with private roof gardens and options for green-minded events, including Fair Trade espresso coffee, organic cocoa and sustainably farmed produce. The venue also offers a sustainable waste management program.
The creative catering menu, provided by Gastronomy, includes ‘brainfood’ items like smoothies, muesli bars, V8 veggie juices, fresh fruit skewers as well as gourmet barbecues, hot breakfasts and 3-course dinners.
The bold and unique thinkPOD is available for
brainstorming and creativeity sessions
The venue also offers a uniquely creative brainstorming venue called thinkPOD featuring bold coloured spaces, beanbag chairs, whiteboards and all the added extras to generate creativity.
