The independent hotel management company has announced a partnership with the local family-run DCOH Group, which will see it take charge of 417 rooms across three properties: Novotel Darwin CBD, Frontier Hotel Darwin (pictured, above) and Smith Hotel Darwin.
DCOH, formerly Halikos Group, is one of the region’s largest privately owned construction, real estate and hospitality providers. Its expertise extends to hotel accommodation with food and beverage outlets and gaming venues.
Darwin’s accommodation sector is set for future growth, driven by the completion of upgrade works to Darwin Airport in late 2024.
The corporate hotel market is also expected to benefit from rising demand due to major infrastructure developments in the region, including energy projects, roadworks, and defence facilities and operations.
Trilogy Hotels plans to enhance DCOH’s three hotel assets in line with the market’s expected growth, while leveraging its teams’ extensive expertise in the local market.
The new deal brings Trilogy’s portfolio to 13 properties across Sydney, the NSW Blue Mountains, Canberra and Darwin, with more than 2500 rooms signed under its management.
“The Northern Territory holds a special place in our hearts as a key market in Australia, driven by its unique demand trends, Indigenous culture and world-class attractions,” says Trilogy Hotels CEO Scott Boyes.
“We plan to showcase the best of Darwin’s food and beverage scene, and champion local produce and people, specifically our hotel teams.”
Shane Dignan, managing director of DCOH, is enthusiastic about the new agreement.
“We’re passionate about hotels as much as we are about our local community in Darwin,” he says.
“As proud hotel owners, we’re eager to harness Trilogy’s expertise to unlock the full potential of our key CBD assets, while highlighting what makes Darwin a top destination.”
