The Westin Brisbane opens its doors today, 8 November 2018, bringing 930 square metres of versatile event space to the city.
Located on Mary Street in the CBD, The Westin Brisbane focuses heavily on health and wellbeing and will take a “holistic approach” to meetings and conferences.
“The Westin Brisbane will be the go-to hotel for event and meeting planners who are passionate about the health and wellbeing of their delegates,” said general manager Brad Mercer.
“From the bright and dynamic venues to fresh and nutritious menus, we’ll work closely with our clients to ensure guests leave the hotel feeling better than when they arrived.”
The hotel’s five event spaces include a 450-square-metre ballroom suitable for up to 500 people, two breakout rooms, which can be combined to accommodate up to 80 people, and three boardrooms, all with floor-to-ceiling glass windows.
In-keeping with Westin’s sustainability goals, energy-efficient lightbulbs, double-sided notepads and water pitchers in lieu of bottled water will be provided for delegates.
Event organisers can also utilise the hotel’s pool level, which can accommodate up to 250 people and features Brisbane’s first swim-up pool bar.
The pool level can be divided into three areas – Podium, Promenade and Pier – for smaller events or pop-up activations. Meanwhile, signature restaurant Eden’s Table caters to 150 seated guests or 60 guests in its private dining space.
The Westin Brisbane boasts 299 guest rooms and suites with views of the city skyline, plus an exclusive Westin Club for guests staying on designated club floors.
For corporate groups, private and group yoga and pilates classes can be arranged on the deck areas, while the hotel’s RunWESTIN Concierge helps guests discover running tracks around the city.
For large corporate groups, The Westin Brisbane is conveniently located adjacent to its sister property, Four Points by Sheraton Brisbane.
Together, the two hotels offer 545 rooms, 10 meeting rooms, plus five restaurants and bars.
Meetings and events planners will also benefit from having one point of contact across the two properties, receiving one master bill, the ability to scale events and tiered accommodation across a 5- and 4.5-star hotel.
The Westin Brisbane has partnered with AV company Microhire to provide the technology across the hotel’s meeting and event venues.
