Starwood has announced that it will manage the new-build Westin Coolum Resort and Spa.

Scheduled to open in 2021, the resort will be part of a proposed mixed use development featuring retail shops and luxury apartments.

The new resort is in no way affiliated with the Palmer Coolum Resort.

Located on Yaroomba beach, The Westin Coolum Resort and Spa will be one of very few internationally branded beachfront resorts in Australia. Starwood will work closely with Sekisui House Australia throughout the planning and design processes for the hotel.

Positioned less than 200 metres from the sea with direct access to the beach, The Westin Coolum Resort and Spa will have 220 guestrooms, including nine suites. The resort will have four dining venues, including an all-day dining restaurant and a specialty restaurant, as well as a Heavenly Spa by Westin with six treatment rooms.

The resort will have 850 square metres of conference and event space, including pre-function areas, and a large flexible ballroom that can be divided into three.
