The National Wine Centre’s Award Trifecta

The National Wine Centre of Australia emerged a winner yet again at the recent South Australian Restaurant and Catering Awards.

The National Wine Centre of Australia emerged a winner yet again at the recent SA Restaurant and Catering Awards.

As a first time nominee in this category, the iconic venue picked up the award for ‘Wedding Caterer of the Year’ for its facilities, service and food within that function genre. In addition, a hat trick was taken by the venue with it being honoured as South Australia’s ‘Best Function Centre’ for the third year time. Both awards are true testament to the effort and personal touches the entire team at the venue bestows on each event.

“There is no doubt it has been a tough competitive year so these wins are especially sweet,” said National Wine Centre general manager, Adrian Emeny.

“The entire team at the National Wine Centre has worked tirelessly on every aspect of our function and wedding business – from the moment a prospective customer calls to make an appointment through to the clearing of the last coffee cup and wine glass. Our continued focus on the client as a unique individual and to ensure their event is one they and their guests will remember for a long time has obviously paid off” he said.

The trifecta and icing on the cake for the venue came as it was named ‘Caterer of the Year’ for the second year in a row. This prestigious award for excellence is presented to the winner solely by the Restaurant and Catering Association judges as opposed to others for which venues, businesses and individuals nominate themselves and then progress to a list of finalists. It is based on the judges highest scoring venue of all the catering categories (function centre, wedding caterer and venue caterer).

The National Wine Centre of Australia is open 7 days a week for visitors wishing to hold a function, meeting, experience their wine discovery tours, view the wine exhibition or dine at the Concourse Café which overlooks the Botanic Gardens. In addition to managing functions for clients, the centre will be available for members of the public to enjoy the service and hospitality experienced by function guests when it hosts a series of wine dinners from August. It’s ever popular ‘Uncorked’ sessions continue every Friday fortnight with complimentary cheese platters and a feature wine maker each event.
