Three new multi-million dollar pools are planned for Tekapo Springs in New Zealand’s south island.
The new pools will include a 80 square metre kid’s aqua play/spray area, a 130 square metre kid’s beach access pool and an 80 square metre adults pool.
Construction of the new pools has already begun with a scheduled opening date set for December 26, 2015.
Tekapo Springs’ owner and managing director Karl Burtscher said, “We’ve listened to our customers which has led to the development of a new cooler adult pool – perfect for our increasingly hotter summer days – plus an aqua play and spray area for kids, feature water jets, funnels, geysers, spots and more.
“We plan to run the new pools through winter, depending on outside weather temperatures,” said Burtscher.
Tekapo Springs is located on the shores of Lake Tekapo. The new pools will add to an attraction that already includes three existing outdoor hot pools, a steam and sauna facility, an ice rink, water slides, summer and winter tubing, a day spa, café and fully licensed bar.
