Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney has announced its involvement in the 2010 Crave Sydney International Food Festival with five very tasty events and workshops.
A highlight of the festival will be the ‘Hats Off’ dinner at Altitude Restaurant on 19th October 2010. Award winning Chef de Cuisine Steven Krasicki’s themed dinner, Slow Food – State to State will showcase a six course degustation which will take guests on a culinary journey from state to state, sampling the finest and exclusively selected produce.
If eating in a hatted restaurant isn’t enough, and you want to learn how to cook like a Chef, Steven Krasick will host two exclusive ‘Hands On’ lunch cooking classes. Hosted in Altitude’s kitchen, Chef Krasick will teach participants how to cook One Hat quality food at home. Hands On Altitude will be held on 9th October and 23rd October from 12pm. Limited places are available and the costs includes a hands on cooking class followed by lunch with the Chef in the exclusive Private Dining Room, an apron and a glass of champagne on arrival.

Back by popular demand, Sugar Hits will treat guests with a tantalizing dessert and Brown Brothers wine in the Lobby Lounge each evening from 7pm.
One floor up, Caf Mix will showcase a Filipino World Festival Dinner over two weekends on October 8- 9 and 15-16. Enjoy an authentic selection of Filipino delicacies, including Binagoongang Baboy (pork in salted shrimp paste), Beef Nilaga (beef soup) and Pork Adobo (pork stew), crafted by the hotel’s Filipino Chefs.
To ensure there is something for everyone, the hotel’s Pastry Chefs will be hosting a Kids in the Kitchen, Chocolate Spectacular Workshop. Designed to give kids a fun, exciting and delicious afternoon, Kids in the Kitchen will teach kids how to make and design chocolates like chocolatiers! Kids in the Kitchen will be held on Saturday 9th October and Saturday 23rd October 2010. Priced at A$20.00 per child, the workshop is free for parents who attend with their children.
