Melbourne’s newest luxury hotel, Shadow Play by Peppers, has opened in the city’s vibrant Southbank district.
Part of Accor, the 46-storey is home to a selection of one- and two-bedroom apartments with full kitchen and laundry facilities, floor-to-ceiling windows and city or bayside views.
The hotel aims to break traditional hotel design with its mix of dark and light interiors and formal and informal spaces.
Accor chief operating officer Pacific Simon McGrath said he is excited for Southbank to experience Peppers’ signature style.
“Shadow Play by Peppers has added a new level of sophistication and luxury to Melbourne’s accommodation offering, which caters perfectly to an increasingly selective global market that is looking for quality, location and facilities of a world-class calibre,” he said.
On arrival, guests are welcomed to the hotel in a grand lobby on the ground floor, which flows into Edwin Wine Bar & Cellar.
The new venue features a seasonal menu and extensive wine list, with distinct Victorian flavour. In-room mini bars are also stocked with locally sourced produce.
Guests can also make use of a heated pool, gymnasium, sauna and steam room, and an enclosed garden space on the 46th floor.
